3D Printing

An Immersive Education Summit is an event that takes place every year, in places around the world.  This year it is taking place in Paris.  Immersion 2015 is a conference event that focuses on many subjects and speakers within the organization.   These include Microsoft, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Google.  Topics discussed throughout this conference is the way technology is being used and within the daily lives of many different people.  It includes 3D printing, holograms, personal robotics, and game based learning.  For more information on Immersion 2015 in Paris visit :

3D Printing is a complicated and confusing process.  First you pick the image you would like to become 3D or in other words real.  Then a computer with a scanner scans the picture in 3 dimensions.   The program then cuts the image into many layers so it becomes a two dimensional image.  These images are then put together somehow to make the 3D image you want.  Some other ways to 3D print is by using a machine to do all the work for you, you put the image you want under it and then it slices and puts the image back together, but making it look three dimensional.

3D Printing is cool, but it also costs a lot of money to get a 3D Printer if you want one at home.  It is about $200,000 to buy this kind of printer.  Offices use 3D printing a little bit, but warehouses use it all the time for mass production.  You can use 3D printing and it is available for people, i think that it will really have an effect in the future.

Here are a couple images on how designers or people in museums have used 3D Printing.

Check out the video posted here on how 3D printing is used and how they actually can get an image to look three dimensional ! :)
