Virtual Reality - Google Cardboard

An Immersive Education Summit is an event that takes place every year, in places around the world.  This year it is taking place in Paris.  Immersion 2015 is a conference event that focuses on many subjects and speakers within the organization.   These include Microsoft, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Google.  Topics discussed throughout this conference is the way technology is being used and within the daily lives of many different people.  It includes 3D printing, holograms, personal robotics, and game based learning.  For more information on Immersion 2015 in Paris visit :

Google Cardboard is actually very unique and kinda cool.  You have to download the Google Cardboard app which gets you a split screen view that combines into a 3D image.  Once you get the cardboard you fold it and put your phone inside.  There is a magnet on the side of the cardboard that mimics a touch screen to make selections.  It pretty much allows you to experience a virtual world without spending lots of money.

A really cool part of this design is that it doesn't take much to work this cardboard device, and you do not have to spend that much money on it either.  It is super easy to use, especially for people who are not very tech savvy and would like to experience a virtual world.

How it works:  Get the app (stated above), place your phone inside the cardboard, then hold the cardboard with the phone inside of it up to your eyes.  You can use Google Cardboard from anywhere, ranging from your couch to even the outdoors.  It is an awesome way to escape reality for a little while at least.  I think that this is a really cool thing that has been invented because it is cheap anyone can purchase it and its super fun to experience something 3D.

Here is a video of the Google Cardboard and how it actually works! It's really cool check it out! :)
